Data Deletion

1. Delete Your Account in the App

If you can access your SmartChief account, open the app and go to your profile or account settings. Use the available account deletion control to request deletion of your account.

When account deletion is completed, SmartChief deletes your main user profile and requests deletion of your Firebase Authentication account.

2. Request Deletion by Email

If you cannot access the app, email privacy@smartchiefai.com from the email address connected to your SmartChief account.

Please include "SmartChief data deletion request" in the subject line. We may ask for reasonable verification before deleting account data to protect your account from unauthorized requests.

3. Data Deleted

Account deletion removes personal account data and app content associated with your SmartChief account where deletion is technically and legally possible.

• Account profile information, including email address, display name, user ID, and preferences.
• Saved recipes, recipe notes, favorites, liked recipes, pantry items, shopping lists, and meal plans.
• Chat history, AI recipe requests, event menu requests, and related cooking-planning content stored in your account.
• Notification tokens and account-level notification preferences.

4. Data That May Be Retained

Some records may be retained for a limited period when required for legal compliance, accounting, security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, payment obligations, or backup operations.

• Payment and subscription records handled by Stripe, M-Pesa, app stores, or other payment providers.
• Server logs, security records, diagnostic records, and abuse-prevention records.
• Records that must be retained to comply with tax, financial, legal, or regulatory obligations.

5. Timing

We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. Backup copies and provider logs may take longer to expire according to normal backup, security, and service-provider retention schedules.
