1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using SmartChief, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. The SmartChief Service

SmartChief provides AI-assisted recipe suggestions, pantry management, meal planning, shopping lists, guided cooking, recipe saving, event menu ideas, and related culinary tools. AI-generated content is provided for convenience and inspiration.

3. User Responsibilities

• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account or making payments.
• You must use the app lawfully and must not misuse, reverse engineer, overload, or interfere with the service.
• You are responsible for checking ingredients, allergens, cooking temperatures, and food safety before preparing or consuming food.

4. Food, Nutrition, and Health Disclaimer

SmartChief is not a medical, dietary, allergy, or professional nutrition service. Recipe suggestions, calorie estimates, macro estimates, and nutrition goals may be inaccurate or incomplete. Always verify ingredients, allergens, freshness, cooking temperatures, and suitability for your health needs. Consult a qualified professional for medical or dietary advice.

5. AI-Generated Content

AI-generated recipes, meal plans, and event menus may contain errors, omissions, unsafe instructions, or unsuitable substitutions. You are responsible for reviewing and adapting generated content before use. We may limit AI usage by plan, trial status, fair use rules, or service availability.

6. Accounts and Data

Some features require a SmartChief account. You may export certain account data and request account deletion through the app. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Subscriptions, Trials, and Payments

SmartChief may offer Lite, Premium, and Pro plans. Paid features may be processed through Stripe, M-Pesa, app stores, or other payment providers made available in the app.

• Prices, billing cycles, and available plans may vary by country, currency, platform, or promotion.
• Trials are optional and may be limited to one use per account.
• Subscriptions remain active until cancelled according to the provider's cancellation process.
• Refunds are handled according to the payment provider, app store, and applicable law.

8. User Content

Recipes, notes, pantry items, shopping lists, prompts, and other content you create remain your responsibility. You grant SmartChief the limited rights needed to store, process, sync, display, and generate app features from that content.

9. Intellectual Property

SmartChief's name, design, software, branding, and service components belong to SmartChief or its licensors. You may not copy, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the app except as allowed by law or with written permission.

10. Service Availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. AI providers, payment providers, Firebase services, app stores, and network conditions may affect availability. We are not responsible for interruptions outside our reasonable control.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, create risk for other users, or if required by law. You may stop using the app or delete your account at any time.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SmartChief is provided as is and as available. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses resulting from reliance on recipes, AI output, nutrition estimates, payment provider issues, or service interruptions.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date above will be updated when changes are made. Continued use of SmartChief after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
